As it prepares to deliver a big upgrade of its Windows operating system later in the month, Microsoft has announced that it will discontinue serving Windows 10 in 2025.

According to Thurrott, the firm silently conveyed the revelation in a support page post.

Microsoft promised that Windows 10 would be the final version of the os when it was released.

Microsoft’s Windows 10 is a substantial update to the Windows NT operating system. It’s the follow-up to Windows 8. 1

The lifespan of Windows 10 is just over ten years.

However, no additional updates or security fixes will be available for either the Home or Pro editions after October 14, 2025.

It’s beneficial to the company’s bottom line. Microsoft has previously stated that releasing new versions of major products such as Windows has resulted in an increase in the company’s revenue growth rate.
