The president issues a new executive order that mandates security evaluations of apps related to foreign foes.

According to Biden’s new directive, the US Commerce Department must assess apps related to foreign adversaries such as China on a regular basis and take action if they are considered to pose a national security danger.

According to the White House, the order also includes criteria for identifying applications that may represent a “unacceptable danger” to national defense.
